Which God do you serve, the Gods of the world or the God – Jehovah?

We are all given free will; it is our decision to choose our God.  I have chosen to be in Christ, have you?  By my choice I know that I am saved and no longer have to suffer from the pains of the past.  Would you like to be free and turn your life around?  It is really simple all you have to do is acknowledge that Jesus died for our sins. Paul in Romans 10:9 – 10 says it beautifully. That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

It is as simple as that. It is your choice!

(The Lord is my Shepherd is one of my all-time favourites even before I was a Christian.  For ages I wanted to have it on my wall.  I was going through some of my old art and came across this collage which I did while I was at Polytechnic.  So I photographed it and played with the colours in Photoshop and added the text.  Now, I have framed it and it hangs over my bed.)

Celtic Princess

The prompt at  Art - Journal  - Journey, this month is crown.  I have been working on this page for a while and when I saw the prompt I just knew I had to add a crown, albeit a small one.  Has to be as she would get it entangled in the branches, as she is a bit of a woodland dweller.

I used watercolours and two stamps - the Celtic knot and handwriting stamps.

While the next is strictly speaking not a journal page, it is in my journal as the drawing started off as a doodle, when I thinking of what type of illustration I needed for a story I am writing about a young Cat Prince called Ambrose (see my post for Sunday Sketches).  As you can see they all are wearing crowns! 

These two are Prince Ambrose parents – the King and Queen of a faraway island called Ambrosia.

Bright and Cheerful

The prompt for this week at The Artist’s Playroom is lots of colour to cheer up the Northern Hemisphere’s dreadful winter.  That suits me as I am a colour junkie, well I thought I was.  However when I looked at the posts I have been putting up lately, I am not so sure, there is a heck of lot of blue creeping into my work!  Maybe it is the blue skies every day!

The above is a design that I am working on for a greeting card.  I’ve used watercolour pencils on hot pressed card.  I am not sure about the dimensions, think I need to lengthen it a bit, A work in progress!

Now for a bit of fun, because the above was quite fiddly to do, I needed to loosen up.  One of my fave ways is to use leftover card and play around with water colours, gouache and chalk pastels.  I usually mess around with the paint and then make squiggles with the pastels.  I love the way wet colours merge together with sometimes surprising results.

 The first one is only 3 in x 4 in, I thought I could see a face so drew it in with pastel.

The second one is actually A4. As I had a piece of card left over from some card that I was painting with gesso for my experiments with water soluble oil paints later in the week…

I used gouache for this one as I wanted the paint to be bold and the squiggles not so dominant.  Also, I waited for the paint to dry, whereas in the first one I used the pastel on wet paint.
