A New Girl and a Cat with Attitude.

This week I picked up my brushes for the first time for months.  I think she is surprised as I am!!!!

I have been working in my journal but it is at the messy stage.  Do you find that your work goes through a  stage where you hate it, but a few squiggles a day or so later you love it again?  Hopefully next week I will have more to show you.

On the crochet front I have made this little fellow (12cm) for a friend in the US,  He is upset as he about to be wrapped up in bubble wrap!  I suppose I would be too!

Thanks for visiting and hope to visit you all at PPF this weekend.

Silence

Not a productive week!  Messed everything up!
However Giggles of The Happy Tiler  saved the day.
Since I stopped blogging earlier in the year, I have lurked  about PPF but haven't felt like leaving  comments.   Tonight when I read her latest post,  it really spoke to me.  I have had heaps of grief this year and just cant speak.  It hurts too much.  I was sitting on the couch thinking I must leave a comment while watching the Australian  version of The Voice and Adam Lambert was guest singer.  He sang My heart is a Ghost Town and I realised that what was the matter.  I have to lay the ghosts to rest!  Let the living come into my heart, let my heart live, and stop the silence.

So I photographed a messed up drawing and played with it digitally.  Thanks Sherry.

A fresh start

Wow it has been nearly 6 months since I last posted!  Time does fly.   My art mojo took a holiday.  At times I was convinced I would never create a picture again.  But a miracle happened the weekend.  I started to draw again. I woke up in the middle of the night, with heaps of inspiration.  I was twitching to start, in the end I got up at 4:30 and got my pencils out of the dark depths of my art cupboard and started…..

At this stage I only feel like drawing, I have decided to do a journal of the whimsical world of a young girl, completely random, just whatever takes her fancy, be it nature or other people.  I have no idea where it is going to take me, but the journey will be interesting.

What do I have to thank for this inspiration?  While I have not been up to painting I have been creative.  Mostly, crochet.  Beautiful glorious colour!
I have been doing a Crochet along with Dedri Uys of Look what I made fame.  It is called Sophie’s Universe and is an amazing piece of design.  I got way behind as for while there I lost my crochet mojo too.  But I am still plugging away at it.

It is already a metre wide, and I am only half way through.  But it makes me smile every time I see it, had to use it in my new header.

I have decided to streamline and have my blogging under one roof.  So my arty friends, I will post arty stuff on Friday and Sunday, and my crafty friends I will post on week days.

I am going to try and post the saga of Sophie every weekend, so tune then to see her first Adventure.

A bit of crochet eye candy!

As you see creativity will always find a way to manifest!

Thanks for visiting and see you soon.

Happy Birthday PPF!

Paint Party Friday is 4 today!  Wow 4 years that is a massive achievement by Kristin and Eva.  It success I am sure is the sense of community there is amongst participants.   We all support each other in our growth as artists; I know that my art has benefited from being part of PPF.

To celebrate this event Eva and Kristen has asked us to do selfies.  Here is my attempt. I actually got my oils out and used an old canvas that already was painted with dark blue.

I am in the throes of packing for my move in a couple of weeks.  However I managed to get some quiet time.  I had to go to Greytown a town further down the valley.  It is an old colonial town and has lots of lovely settler houses set in beautiful garens.

But my favourite bit was my walk and picnic lunch in a stand of original bush land that has been preserved near the camping grounds.

The shade and green was bliss on a very hot day.

HAVE A GREAT CREATIVE WEEK ALL PPF PEOPLE.

Paint Party Friday- on the move

Hi everybody.  Have had a busy, busy week!  I have decided to move house as my present home I have decided is too large, especially the garden which has become rather overgrown!  I have found somewhere else that is far easier to manage, but now I have to get rid of rather a lot of stuff!  So like the cutie above I am twirling around in a panic!  Think I will have to get a pad out and start  to make lists.

I am actually quite excited as decorating rooms looms in my future, yummy.

However, over the next few months I suspect my blog posts will be a bit sparse.  But I will still try and post and visit all my friends at Paint Party Friday.

Happy Valentine!

When I was young as this beauty we didn't celebrate Valentine ’s Day.  But I am sure we still had the same sentiments.  Romance, dreams of happy forever, hopes for the future.  Over the years the dreams do get knocked about a bit, but love is forever. \

1 Corinthians, Chapter 13. Says it all
What if I could speak all languages of humans and of angels? If I did not love others, I would be nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

What if I could prophesy and understand all secrets and all knowledge? And what if I had faith that moved mountains? I would be nothing, unless I loved others.

What if I gave away all that I owned and let myself be burned alive? I would gain nothing, unless I loved others.

Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or
rude. Love isn't selfish or quick tempered. It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do.

Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil.

Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting.

Love never fails! Everyone who prophesies will stop, and unknown languages will no longer be spoken. All that we know will be forgotten.

We don't know everything, and our prophecies are not complete.

But what is perfect will someday appear, and what isn't perfect will then disappear.

When we were children, we thought and reasoned as children do. But when we grew up, we quit our childish ways.

Now all we can see of God is like a cloudy picture in a mirror. Later we will see him face to face. We don't know everything, but then we will, just as God completely understands us.

For now there are faith, hope, and love. But of these three, the greatest is love.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful week.

Just Doodling Along....!

Circumstances haven’t allowed me to do much art lately but I still manage to get in a little bit of doodling with pastels and paints.  These are a few from this week’s colour plays.

And a painting I did of roses - a request from a loved family relative – “I would love you to do me some roses dear, pink ones, but proper!’  I hope these will be “proper” enough! Lol.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you all have a creative week.

The Landscape Within

I have had an introspective week.  I had intended to do a post on the happy changes I mentioned last week.  But two pieces of bad news on top of a period where I have had losses in my family broke the camel’s back. In particular the news that a friend had taken his life hit me knocked the stuffing out of me.  I had no idea he was struggling.  No one had.  News like that makes you re-evaluate everything.

I wasn't going to post as I feel so sad.  But then, I have got to be real, sadness is life, without it we would not know joy!  Or perhaps we wouldn't prize it so much.

The only art I did this week was this digital piece portraying how I feel at the moment.  I used bit of art work and photos and collaged them in Photoshop.

Have a great week and thanks for visiting, normal happy service will be back next week!!

Linking as always to Paint Party Friday, thank you Eva and Kristin!
