Blast from the Past!

Today I am linking with Sunday Sketches (face drawings) and with 30 Paintings in 30 Days with the same faces painted.

This morning it was pouring with rain so I thought I would do a bit of blog hopping, one site I was visiting had a link to U tube and the next thing I knew I was listening to ‘Girls just want to have fun’  by Cyndi Lauper.  The video had her prancing about with total abandonment.  I just loved her colours and attitude so I got one of my gessoed boards and gave myself the task of drawing her within the time of the video, I think about 4 minutes.

I really liked doing this so looked on the side bar and found Sinead O’Connor’s Nothing Compares to You.  This was easier as the video mainly just showed her head.

Next I glanced down and saw Bryan Adams ‘Everything I do I do just for you’.  I just love his gravelly voice!

I didn’t want to make the paintings portraits of these people they were just a base to work on.

I gave myself 10 minutes to work on each. They are in acrylic on gessoed mount card (7 x 9 inches).  So here are Paintings 4 and 5.  I will do Bryan Adams Face for Painting 6 tomorrow.  It was great to listen to some music I hadn’t heard for years.

This exercise has given me the idea of doing something like this for the 29 Faces in February challenge.

Have a great day everyone.
