A Sulky Girl and more postcards.

This girl was drawn from an old cutting I had stashed away; I had been meaning to draw her for ages.  I don’t know where the photo came from as it was many years ago I should really put the source on the back, but when I am ripping bits out from magazines, I get too lazy to do so thinking I will remember.  This picture called to me as it reminded me of myself as a child, I use to hide at the back of the house and sulk!  Never for too long. I was a very inquisitive child, and would find something to take my mind off the imagined or real insult.  I used coloured pencils and chalk pastels.

My give away starts this week.  If you leave a comment during the month of July I will put you in the weekly draw to win two postcards.  The winner can choose from the postcards on my postcard page, (tab at top).  I decided to do this as everyone has different tastes.  Also, as it a celebration of 1 year of blogging and during that year I have gone along many paths, I felt it would be good to have a representation of my different styles.  I will be adding to it as the month goes on.

The two I am adding today are watercolours.

I am also giving away 2 cards on my Paint Party Friday Posts, so you can comment there and get two chances to win every week.

Have a happy Sunday Sketches and a good week everyone and blessings.

Journals and Postcards

July is my 1st anniversary of blogging about my art.  To celebrate and say thank you I am going to have a giveaway.  It will be in two parts.  The main giveaway is an A5 size journal with 5 spreads.  I will do a spread every week till the end of the month and any who has left a comment on the PPF post over the month will go into the draw.  So, if you leave a comment every week you could have 5 chances of winning!  Below is the cover and the first spread.  The top corner is empty at the moment as I might put the winner’s name there or the words ‘Be Inspired!’

This spread uses a quote that has inspired me for many years, don’t know where it comes from, or even if I have made it up!  “How do you know whether you are a dragonfly dreaming that you were a person”  As a child I use to dream that I was a dragonfly flitting about the place!

The second give away is two postcards will be sent to one person each from PPF and Sunday Sketches, as they were the two first link ups that I entered.  So, if you leave comments on both posts you have two chances of winning.  For this I have decided to let the winners choose their postcards.  I will over the week end put them on a separate page for the winners to choose from.

I have gone a little crazy over these.  I love doing them.  Here are the first four.  I will add more over the weekend on the special page.

It is strange, for the Icad challenge I am doing 3 x 5 in cards, these are on 6 x 4 in card and feel so much bigger, it threw me a bit.  When I took part in the Artist in Blogland’s postcard swap I really struggled with the small size.  How things change.  I really like small now.  Next you will see me doing ATC’s!!!
Talking of the Icads, um er, I haven’t done any yet, will have a bash at them over the weekend and link them to Daisy’s linkup or put them on my Flickr photo stream.

Well that’s all I have for you this week, have a great week creating wonderful art.  (Remember to leave a comment if you want to be in the draw.)
