I have been dithering about trying to decide whether
to do 29 Faces this time round and as I missed last September I finally decided
I will. The problem is that I have a lot
on this month. So I decided I would do
watercolour whimsy faces.

Face 3 |
However, by Face 3 I knew it wasn’t going to work as
it was not enough of a challenge. So I
decided to do something that was a challenge, tonal work! Using my Inktense pencils but ONLY one
colour, allowing myself to use water to create tone. Here is my first effort for faces 4 and 5,
inspired by a photo from a magazine.

Love your watercolor-faces....
ReplyDeleteThey're so fun. I wish I could draw like that....

I love the colours on the first three, but the last one is really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery colourful! I love them!
ReplyDeleteOh, great color therapy in those water colors! I'm craving for colors since tehere seems to be no end of this white winter.
ReplyDeleteThe whimsey art is nice, but please do more of what 4 and 5 are like. I love them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful faces all!
ReplyDeleteYour watercolor whimsies look like fun and the inktense sketch is super.
ReplyDeleteI love your watercolor whimsies.....love the abstract look and your tonal sketch is great. I'll have to try that.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your faces.... especially the happy colours of the watercolours. Inspiring :)
ReplyDeleteI know it is difficult Sharon when life is busy, I too wondered if I really had time this month, but already I'm enjoying the small amount of time I can devote to the challenge. Your watercolours are fresh and lively, they have a abstract feel which I like, very glad you have joined the challenge this time round.
ReplyDeleteWow Sharon, those colours are so vivid. LOVE them! What brand of watercolours do you use? Great faces, the first one is my favorite. And your tonal work is great too.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I like these!! :)
ReplyDeleteoooh loving all of your faces Sharon, fab artwork. Annette x
ReplyDeleteI learned a lot from your entries. I have been painting for years but not good at drawing. I get a new perspective from your work.

ReplyDeleteSo colorful and expressive, especially that last one. What great faces!
ReplyDeleteYour Whimsy ladies are fun and enjoyable, and as always your use of colour brings everything alive. Face No 3 is my favourite with its vibrant colouring, and I can hear her saying - 'Who are you calling Whimsy!'
