Blorange!

Face 26
The prompt at The Artist's Play Room this week is blorange! Jen has picked Blorange as the word is for the colours Tracey Fletcher King loves – blue and orange.

I have been wanting to do a red haired girl for a while and this is the perfect opportunity. I am getting near the end of the 29 faces in February challenge and ideas are starting to thin out. This watercolour was painted from a photo of myself when I was a “young slip of a thing”, Yeah okay, I didn't have red hair, but sometimes I put an auburn dye through. But you know artists are allowed artistic licence. Oh yeah I got green eyes, oh well the face is mine!
So here is my blorange entry, strangely enough those colours have been on my radar. Last week I was walking past a gallery and I did a double take as there in the window was this amazing abstract of blue and orange. It was small a print I think, but it really got to me. I looked at the price $1000, yelp!

So my mind has been playing around with the concept and when 29 faces are over don't be surprised if you see some blorange work coming your way!

  2. What a pretty young girl, with hopes and dreams in her eyes. I hope they came true. I think they did, you look such a happy person. Great painting, and a lovely subtle way of using the blorange.

  4. Visiting from the APR - I take my hat off to all artists, but I particularly admire those that can 'do' faces. She is a very pretty girl, with secrets me thinks. I'm sure she wants to grin widely but is holding it back, fear of giving the game away. :0) Mo

  8. I love this, Sharon!! I actually considered DOing something with my son, a redhead, who I have several photos of with him wearing blue, AND his favourite colours are blue and orange [had them in his wedding cupcakes and groom's cake] BEcause he is a huge Syracuse Orangemen fan [no coincidence I graduated from Syracuse University]

you've got a handle on these faces. way to go!!

What a great idea for the 'blorange' challenge although it doesn't look like you've had much of a challenge here ;D
Have a great week and see you again soon!
