I love
fruit. Apples, oranges, plums, nectarines, passion fruit, you name it.
I thought I would kill two birds with one stone today. First paint some fruit from my fruit bowl for
Diana Evans 10 Minute Warm Up linky. Second, the prompt at Jen’s Artists Play
Room this week is fruit.
Well, the painting actually took 15 minutes, and as
usual my hands took me on a colour journey and I forgot I was meant to be paint
fruit! Well there is definitely an apple
at the back and an orange at the front, the rest well….
Have a happy APR everybody!

Thanks for that Sherrie, One criticism I get from so called "experts" is that I need to focus more on a particular style so that people could recognize my work. I tried that and it kills my creative urges. I have to be all over the place, I suppose because my brain is so full of ideas?
DeleteWonderful Sharon! Lovely work!!! :D I love fruit too. My favorite fruit is watermelon, figs, bananas and strawberries. :D Fruits are truly wonderful! :D
ReplyDeleteI love it, Sharon!! You had fun!! It made me smile!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove the fresh zingy colours of this Sharon.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the impressionistic feel of your fruit still life. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAw wow how awesome and free! I particularly love the blue fruit at the back left which strangely looks like a blue pepper!
ReplyDeleteTo me this painting is about the joy of colour, and I love the way the theme of fruit has developed into an abstract form of the fruit, which is so much more than a 'realistic' painting. There is real movement, beautiful merging of colours and happiness in this picture. I really do love it.
ReplyDeletePlease don't change what you do just to please those who believe in 'recognising someone's style'. There are so many famous contemporary artists whose work is immediately identifiable because they know what sells and what they are comfortable doing. Think Hockney - I admire him so because he is always ready to try something new, to adopt new technology to his art, and generally be so innovative.
One can always be doing something new, but still the influence of the artist is there and recognisable.
Thank you Jez, for words of encouragement. Picasso was another one who kept on do new stuff too.
DeleteVery colorful and loose. Lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteLove all the juicy color in this! Full of life and energy.
